    Position Summary

    Virgin Orbit (VO) is seeking a new member for our team to serve as a Procurement Analyst (Contract). If you join us in this position, you will assist in implementing new supply chain- related procedures and MRP/ERP software systems. The Procurement Analyst (Contract) is responsible for reviewing and coordinating documents, as well as, effectively communicate with external Suppliers and internal teams to deliver the information and data needed to properly vet and approve suppliers. You will also be required to analyze and document data and information, and evaluate and report information harvested through surveys and meetings, task analysis, and business process description. This is a contract position at our rocket factory in beautiful Long Beach, California.

    Your Mission

    • Analyze and define processes of business both “To Be” and “As Is”
    • Plan and execute all activities to onboard Suppliers with efficiency, attention to detail, and effective communication with Management
    • Audit and track Approved Supplier Profiles to verify fully on boarded, check for expiring documents, status
    • Ensure timely communication based on SLA is provided to internal customer, Supply Chain Management, Legal, and Suppliers to uphold status of on boarding processes or related operational issues
    • Work closely with Procurement, Production and Production Planning Manager, as well as with the Engineering team, to determine current and future supplier needs
    • Understand the business requirements and translate them into specific process/policy and system requirements
    • Run queries and analyze data to obtain and report current information concerning all phases of Supplier On-Boarding
    • Collaborate with Procurement, Planning and Strategic Sourcing to identify problem areas and recommend/discuss solutions with the management
    • Maintain records in accordance with established policies and procedures and audit guidelines
    • Help Virgin Orbit do our part to make the world a better place

    • Performs other duties as assigned

    What you bring

    • Bachelor's degree or comparable purchasing experience
    • Certifications or similar within aerospace, aviation or automotive
    • Graduated from a technical college or other recognized apprenticeship
    • Possess an established track record of procuring complex systems and structures, especially within an aviation or manufacturing setting
    • Knowledge and understanding of lean manufacturing
    • Ability and willingness to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment
    • Driven, highly motivated, and committed to improvement
    • Ability to add something unique and positive to our team
    • Generally high level of all-around awesomeness

    ITAR Requirements

    To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.15) or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
