    Overview

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Senior Investor Accountant is responsible for compiling and analyzing account information, reconciling various general ledger bank reconciliations, handling certain day-to-day cash management functions, and assisting in month-end close. The position requires to pro-actively communicate and coordinate between various parties as needed to resolve any discrepancies or issues.

    Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Maintains general ledger by recording daily and monthly entries
    • Prepares monthly general ledger and bank reconciliations in accordance with internal standards and procedures
    • Analyzes, researches, and resolves general ledger and bank reconciling items
    • Aids in the research and resolution of reconciling items in a timely manner
    • Manages department inbox answering various account and loan related inquiries
    • Assists in pulling support for various audits throughout the year
    • Prepares wires in banking system
    • Researches data and compiles regulatory reports as directed
    • Works closely with the Accounting Manager as well as other members of management, operations, and the finance team
    • Performs other duties as assigned by management

    Qualifications

    ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

    • Recent Loan Servicing experience and knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices is required
    • Possess good overall mathematical skills
    • Strong organizational and time management skills necessary
    • Capable of handling diverse duties and changing deadlines
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks in order to meet deadlines
    • Possess accuracy and analysis abilities with strong attention to detail
    • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
    • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to effectively interface with external clients and internal business partners
    • Excellent teamwork/interpersonal skills with proven ability to work effectively in a variety of situations

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor’s Degree required (Accounting, Finance or other business related field)
    • Understanding of mortgage servicing is preferred
    • Minimum 2 years' experience in a loan servicing accounting/finance department or other mortgage experience
    • MSP experience a plus
    • Navision GL experience preferred

    MACHINES, OFFICE EQUIPMENT & SOFTWARE:

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
    • Advanced Excel knowledge including pivot tables & vlookups
    • Familiar with commonly used business software
    • Excellent PC skills with strong focus in MSP and Navision preferred
