CallisonRTKL seeks a junior-to-mid level Architect with project delivery experience to join its Healthcare group located in Los Angeles, CA. We are looking for an individual who has interest in acting as a Job Captain to oversee parts of a bigger project, and as a stand-alone Project Architect/Project Manager (PA/PM) on smaller projects. The candidate will be BIM-savvy and take on an active role as BIM controller within the LA Healthcare group. The position is primarily focused on technical development of small-to-mid scale healthcare projects, with entry-level Project Management expectations, and advanced BIM knowledge.


  • Plans, coordinates and manages the project delivery process for small-to-mid scale projects
  • Works with a Sr. PA to plan, coordinate and manage the project delivery process for parts of mid-to-large scale projects
  • Collaborates with other professionals to ensure design and documentation are in accordance with project expectations
  • Coordinates the tasks of supporting team members
  • Coordinates the project delivery process with internal project team and the required project consultants
  • Reports directly to Sr. PA and assists with leading architectural project delivery team and overseeing technical staff
  • Acts as PA/PM to lead and manage smaller projects
  • Working directly with Sr. PA, manages development of documentation from concepts through construction documentation including detailing and quality control
  • Evaluates code compliance
  • Attends construction meetings and prepares field reports
  • Facilitates construction observation, answers RFI's and prepares change bulletins
  • Achieves project success as measured by client and team satisfaction while achieving financial goals
  • Contributes to business development by establishing confidence with clients
  • Acts as BIM controller within the group, implementing and enforcing company-wide BIM standards, developing and enforcing group-specific BIM standards where needed, and ensuring BIM product quality and consistency across all LA Healthcare projects

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Architecture
  • 4+ years of architecture healthcare experience and knowledge of guidelines for design and construction of healthcare facilities
  • Minimum 1 year of recent architecture healthcare experience with California’s Office of Statewide Health
  • Planning and Development (OSHPD)
  • Professional registration preferred
  • Ability to prioritize and concurrently service multiple projects
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective problem solving and interpersonal skills and ability to interface with all clients and employees
  • Interacts well with other disciplines and clients in a manner that builds productive relationships
  • Mastery level skill in Revit and other BIM software; proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Knowledge of sustainable principles
  • LEED accreditation preferred
