Now hiring 2 Manual Machinists. Direct Hire/Full Time at our Bellwood Virginia (Richmond, VA) plant, located near Chester. The Machinist is responsible for supporting maintenance and engineering initiatives, create custom replacement parts and fabricate new parts for use in upgrades and improvements to machinery used by the production team.

Duties:
  • Communicate effectively with all members of engineering, maintenance, production and operations to understand current projects and provide input into the current capabilities to make new and replacement parts
  • Work with engineering and maintenance to obtain specifications, understand needs and plan for production of one-offs and batches of parts for on-hand replacement.
  • Will also assist in the custom creation of tool & die
  • Demonstrate capable operation of Manual Mills & Lathes such as Bridgeport, Kent, Summit, Monarch, Swiss or other industry recognized machining equipment
  • Ability to utilize or learn CNC machining is also desired as some parts will need to be run periodically
  • Perform basic maintenance, setup, troubleshooting, balancing and calibration as needed
  • Review CAD drawings, schematics, manuals and blue prints
  • Research methodologies that can be used to save time, scrap and money in the machining process
  • Operate all equipment within the proper safety requirements, company policies, and while wearing appropriate PPE.

Qualification:
  • 5+ years of experience in manual machining, tool & die, engineering or similar within a manufacturing environment
  • Must be able to demonstrate proficient expertise with manual Mills and manual Turning Lathes.
  • Must have good math skills
  • Must have strong experience with standard measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges etc…
  • Must have strong experience overall in machining and fabrication of metal parts

Education:
  • HS Diploma or GED is required
  • 2-year technical degree or Journeyman status is desired – however those with strong skills will not be turned away.
