The Technical Integration Project Engineering Section Manager is a dual-hat Engineering Manager responsible for both section management (up to 20% of time) and existing program responsibilities (80% or more of time). Along with reporting into a program, the Section Manager is also a member of the Space Park CoE Systems Engineering organization.  The Section Manager shall be the functional management point of contact at the work site for the Specialty Systems Engineering Department and will support and implement activities supporting Technical Integration and Project Engineering initiatives, reporting directly to the Specialty Systems Engineering Department Manager.  

Role and Responsibilities:
·   Perform resource planning and staffing; staff development, including skills training and career support; performance management, including employee goal setting, annual reviews, and issues resolution
·   Deployment, measurement, and improvement of tailored, lean, Specialty Engineering processes and procedures and supporting product cost reduction strategies.  
·   Perform technical planning, project engineering, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for programs. 
·   Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total program solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
·   Tasks include establishing and implementing policy, program support, technical program standup and increasing the competitiveness of the organization

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:


- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and 5 years of engineering experience OR

- Master's degree in a technical discipline and 3 years of engineering experience

- Active DoD Secret (or higher) clearance required
- Demonstrated experience in leading technical teams or project management


Preferred Qualifications:

 

- Graduate degree  in technical discipline or MBA or Project Management or engineering management certifications

- Active DoD Top Secret or Active SCI clearance
- Prior Assignment manager and/or performance management experience
- Excellent communication, mentoring, interpersonal skills, the ability to interface with all involved employee and problem resolution
