We are currently seeking a Principal / Senior Principal Structural Engineer with a current/active clearance to join our team in Northridge, CA.

The structural analysis candidate will be working on the Conceptual Design for Next Generation weapon systems. Perform Analytical modeling and finite element analysis of complex electro- and aero-mechanical systems from a structural survivability standpoint, including static, shock, and vibration environments. Desired to have familiarity with aero-heating effects and high temperature materials. Ability to effectively communicate results to both expert and non-expert team members and management. Ability to provide insight and suggest design modifications based on analysis outcomes. Ability to modify 3D CAD models is a plus. Have familiarity with considerations for manufacturability, proper drawing creation, and tolerancing. Will be involved with fabrication and assembly of prototypes and proof-of-concept models.

This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on the qualifications listed below.

Qualifications

*This requisition may be filled as either a Principal Mechanical Engineer or a Senior Principal Mechanical Engineer.
BQs for a Principal Mechanical Engineer are a Bachelor's degree and 5 years of related experience.
BQs for a Senior Principal Mechanical Engineer are a Bachelor's degree and 9 years of related experience.



Basic Qualifications: 
1. Current/active Secret Clearance.
2. Extensive structural analysis experience.
3. Bachelor Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
4. 5 years of experience.

 
Preferred Qualifications: 
1. Top Secret Clearance.

2. Nastran, Abaqus and Femap tool experience.

3. Experience working in the Defense Industry.
