Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Principal / Senior Principal Embedded Software Engineer - Data Science based out of Point Mugu, CA.

What You'll get to Do:

 

  • Support design and development of Airborne Electronic Attack programs with our Navy Customer at Pt. Mugu.
  • Perform data science related activities for Electronic Attack/Electronic Warfare related sensor engineering and adaptive signal processing.
  • Will support development in the following areas: Electronic Warfare/Electronic Attack, data analytics, artificial intelligence/machine learning, signal processing techniques, and algorithm development, particularly as applied to signal processing of complex sensor systems.
  • Will complete design, development and integration in full life cycle system development.
  • Work in a dynamic team environment that interacts with distributed teams including the Navy customer and other contractors.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with external organizations and internal functional disciplines to plan, execute and work through program activities and issues; with strong oral/written communications skills and demonstrated technical leadership capabilities.
  • Build strong customer relationships and provide innovative technical solutions specific to software and the domain of electronic attack.

 

*This position may be filled at a Principal or Senior Principal level based on the qualifications below.*



Qualifications

To Be Considered for a Principal Embedded Software Engineer: 

  • For Principal Embedded Software Engineer: BS degree in a STEM field  with 5 years of experience in the development and maintenance of real-time embedded software systems; Master's degree with 3 years of experience; PhD with 0 years of experience.

To Be Considered for a Senior Principal Embedded Software Engineer:

  • For Principal Embedded Software Engineer: BS degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) with 9 years of experience in the development and maintenance of real-time embedded software systems; Master's degree with 7 years of experience; PhD with 5 years of experience.

 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • US citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance is required
  • Interim DoD Secret Clearance Required to start.        
  • Demonstrated ability to probe large quantities of sensor data to uncover, understand, and exploit complex sensor data from various platforms 
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and apply artificial intelligence and machine learning approaches to accomplish objectives
  • Experience with higher order software language, data science related development tools, and integrated development environments (IDEs)
  • Strong Statistical background and skills
  • Ability to travel on occasion to Northrop Grumman and customer locations 

     

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • For Principal Embedded Software Engineer: BS degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) from an accredited institution with 5 years of experience in the development and maintenance of real-time embedded software systems; Master's degree with 3 years of experience; PhD with 0 years of experience.
  • US citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance is required
  • Demonstrated ability to probe large quantities of sensor data to uncover, understand, and exploit complex sensor data from various platforms 
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and apply artificial intelligence and machine learning approaches to accomplish objectives
  • Experience with higher order software language, data science related development tools, and integrated development environments (IDEs)
  • Strong Statistical background and skills
  • Ability to travel on occasion to Northrop Grumman and customer locations
