Job Description

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  1. Ability to understand Guests’ service needs.
  2. Ability to be well organized. Maintain concentration and think clearly when providing service to Guests.
  3. Ability to focus attention to performance of tasks despite frequent stressful, emergency, or unusual interruptions.
  4. Ability to assemble and disassemble linens, tables, china, flatware, and glassware to restaurant standards.
  5. Ability to converse calmly with irate Guests, co-workers or supervisors in sometimes tense situations.
  6. Ability to transport food and beverage to Guests.
  7. Ability to perform job functions with minimal supervision.
  8. Ability to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.Essential Job Functions: Complete opening duties as assigned, including the following:
    1. Check quality and quantity of all restaurant stock and supplies using checklist.
    2. Fold napkins, per restaurant standards.
    3. Retrieve all necessary supplies and transport from storeroom to dining room.
    4. Set tables according to service standards.
    5. Set up all condiments (butter, bread, sugar, etc.) and beverages according to service standards.
    6. Ensure a sufficient supply of all flatware, glassware and china for service.
    7. Ensure cleanliness and condition of restaurant, assigned station and service areas.
      1. Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned station and service areas.
      2. Clear each course following restaurant procedures.
      3. Remove soiled wares from tables and transport to dish washing areas.
      4. Make all varieties of coffee in accordance with standards.
      5. As needed, assist server in serving all courses and beverage items to the guest.
      6. Anticipate Guests’ needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all Guests, however busy.
      7. Interact in courteous and professional manner with Guest, supervisors, and co-workers.
      8. Follow supervisor’s instructions.
      9. Clean and reset tables immediately after Guest departs.
      10. Complete closing duties, such as:
        1. Properly store all reusable goods.
        2. Clean all equipment as assigned.
        3. Restock items for next service.
        4. Remove all dirty linen.
        5. Stock all condiments
        6. Reset tables for next meal periods.
