Job Description

Clarity Recruitment is currently seeking a qualified and experienced Sales Engineer for a well-established global manufacturer of electrical engineering instruments based in one of their key offices in Dublin. This is a full time, permanent position with flexibility required to travel to client sites across the UK & Ireland and the rest of Europe.

The company is a large multi-national working across 59 different countries. The primary focus of the business is Industrial Automation solutions for Oil & Gas, Pharma/Life Science and Bulk Chemical manufacturing.

As a Sales Engineer, you will report directly to the UK & Ireland Business Unit Manager. Your focus will be to establish appropriate and competitive quotations for a range of different clients, based on their respective needs. This is an exciting role that will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to travel to client sites throughout both Ireland, the United Kingdom and Europe.

Key Competencies:

The successful candidate will be able to illustrate experience of a professional approach to sales engineering as a means of integrity-based responses to client requirements.
A sound basis of technical knowledge as well as similar experience within Industrial Automation is also required.
Candidates should possess a formal qualification in a relevant discipline; namely electronic or chemical engineering for instance.
An understanding of ISO 9001 and the Health and Safety at Work Act are necessary for this role.
A full, clean driving license is required.

The Candidate:

The ideal candidate will posses strong communication skills and be capable of taking and passing on factual information in accordance with the company's standard operating procedures.
You must also possess a positive approach to the fulfilment of the company's objectives and maintain a friendly yet professional relationship with clients at all times.
Degree Qualified with a background in Sales or Commercial engineering within an Industrial environment
Experience working with clients developing specific industrial engineering solutions with a focus on Automation or Instrumentation would be ideal.
Experience giving technical demos and presentations as well as creating a bid strategy, including planning and prioritisation of activities.
Experience of dealing with and presenting to all levels of senior management and Directors.
