General Summary: Under minimal supervision of the IT Business Manager, the IT Business Analyst is responsible for technical operational objectives and solving organizational information technology problems technical solutions and process improvement initiatives by studying business functions and protocols, gathering and documenting information, evaluating output requirements and formats, designing modifications, and recommending controls by identifying problems, risks and inefficiencies of technical systems, including processes and procedures. The IT Business Analyst will help create a technical center of operational excellence to provide innovation, increase user adoption of new technologies, and improve overall efficiency.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Analytics (50%)

  • Conduct ongoing evaluation of business processes, including anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and developing optimization strategies and implementing key solutions.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest IT processes and advancements in order to automate, upgrade and innovate systems.

Project Management (25%)

  • Manage various requirements based on business needs for all technical projects, and ensure implemented solutions meet needs and requirements.
  • Create test scripts for all technical projects in preparation for user acceptance and quality assurance testing.
  • Monitor deliverables and ensure timely completion of projects.

Information Management and Sharing (20%)

  • Identify and composite critical information from meetings with various stakeholders, and perform requirements analysis as needed.
  • Update, implement, and maintain procedures as necessary.
  • Effectively document and communicate innovative plans to cross-functional team members, stakeholders, and management.
  • Participate in meetings and make presentations to staff, executive team, committees, Agency Board of Directors, and other public agencies as needed to successfully share ideas and findings.
  • Work closely with the business users, technical teams, and leadership.
  • Perform user acceptance testing as needed.
  • Serve as a liaison between stakeholders and users.

Administrative (5%)

  • Process IT purchase requests for management approval.
  • Prepare check requests for invoice payment processing.
