Jobing Description
Forest Home operates three distinct Christian camp sites in Southern California: MILL CREEK CANYON, THE WOODLANDS and OJAI VALLEY. Each site is a year-round, interdenominational, non-profit ministry serving 144 programs to 40 denominations and over 50,000 men, women and children annually.

Would you like to be apart of one the most dynamic ministry teams? If so, we are currently looking for an Administrative Assistant who can provide administrative, secretarial, and creative support services to Family Camp and adult Ministries at Mill Creek Canyon.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for the general clerical duties relating to the programs. Duties include, but are not limited to: typing and editing correspondence, teaching materials, curriculum, basic graphic design, payment approvals, budget tracking, maintaining appointment schedule/calendar; handling telephone calls and taking messages as required.
  • Assists in creative elements of programs, including but not limited to: decoration concept and design, scheduling, creation and design of thematic elements, and brainstorming new and different activities and experiences. Required to “assist” during some weekend conferences in a variety of ways.
  • Serves as a registration liaison between registration and program directors, providing information to both regarding capacities, cabin assignments, etc.
  • Assists with various church and contact work for the Directors.
  • Maintains the program electronic visual music database, including copyright control, data entry, and slide show preps for Forest Home conferences as needed.
  • Actively supports and participates in staff spiritual life activities, including staff meetings and Staff Retreat.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

  • Skills / Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree strongly preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of strong administrative assistant experience.
  • Familiarity with Forest Home programs and facilities preferred.
  • Experience in basic design principles helpful.
  • Strong Microsoft computer skills. Experience in Photo Shop helpful
  • A self-starter.
  • Excellent people service skills, with the ability to provide service and streamline processes without compromising the integrity of the department or Forest Home and its policies and procedures.
  • Able to accomplish assigned projects utilizing strong communication (written and verbal), project management, time management and collaboration skills.
  • Able to perform high quality work.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
  • Regular, timely attendance.
  • Signed statement of faith.
  • Servant heart and Christ-like attitude.
