Job: Cooks

Forest Home operates three distinct Christian camp sites in Southern California: MILL CREEK CANYON, THE WOODLANDS and OJAI VALLEY. Each site is a year-round, interdenominational, non-profit ministry serving 144 programs to 40 denominations and over 50,000 men, women and children annually.

Mill Creek Canyon and the Woodlands are only 90 minutes from L.A., this scenic and historical 500 acre center rests a mile high in a valley of two 10,000 foot mountain peaks and is recognized as being a place where God moves.

Would you like to be apart of one the most dynamic ministry teams? If so, we are currently looking for Cooks who can prepare meals quality, quantity, within bugetary guidelines.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepares meals within quality and quantity guidelines using standardized recipes and menus.

Assists in training kitchen utility staff.

Works in assigned areas as directed.

Maintains kitchen facility, including equipment, following department sanitation guidelines.

Reports needed repairs to site supervisor.

Assists Chef de Partie in ordering supplies from Commissary as needed.

Seeks to develop capabilities in areas of leadership and food preparation.

Actively supports and participates in spiritual life activities.

Performs other duties as assigned.

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Prior experience in related food service position.

Valid food handlers card.

A self-starter.

Good people service skills, with the ability to provide service and streamline processes without compromising the integrity of the department or Forest Home and its policies and procedures.

Able to accomplish assigned projects utilizing highly developed communication (written and verbal), project management, time management and collaboration skills.

Able to perform high quality work.

Regular, timely attendance.

Signed statement of faith.

Servant heart and Christ-like attitude.
