Typical Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering commercial driver training (Class A &B), defensive driver training for the Company, act as the liaison between Southern California Edison (SCE), California Highway Patrol (CHP), Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), Department of Transportation, and other governmental agencies. Typical responsibilities include: scheduling driving school classes; delivering driving school training material; ensuring all terminal are complying with Federal and State laws regarding Class A drivers; working closely with the CHP to ensure all terminal receive satisfactory ratings during the Biennial Inspection of Terminals; working closely with the DMV to ensure SCE is in compliance with all rules and regulations pertaining to the employer testing programs; interpreting regulations and Company policies/procedures related to the operations of all types of vehicles; working with Edison garages and business unit administration/management to audit regulatory compliance; creating programs, policies, and procedures to improve regulatory compliance and safety performance in the Company; and performing other duties as required.

Basic Qualifications:
Must possess a Valid Class A license for at least the past three years.

Core Competencies:
- Bachelor Degree; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Typically possesses four or more years experience in commercial driver training.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Employer Testing Program.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the CHP Biennial Inspection of Terminals and the California Vehicle Code as it pertains to commercial drivers.
- Demonstrated experience with Biennial Inspection of Terminals (BIT).
- Demonstrated experience with the Employer Pull Notice Program.
- Demonstrated knowledge of federal laws pertaining to commercial drivers.
- Demonstrated experience training in a classroom environment and on the road.
- Demonstrated ability to interface with various governmental agencies.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Comments:
The successful candidate will need to obtain a DMV Commerical Examiner Certificate within six months of employment and Defensive Driver Trainer Certificate from the National Safety Council within the first year of employment. Additional testing may be required as part of the selection process for this position.
