Whole Foods Market Bakehouse, a full production bread bakery is looking for an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to help keep our facility running efficiently and safe.
The desired candidate will have a minimum of 3 years prior experience working as a Maintenance Mechanic in a manufacturing facility (preferably in the food industry), be familiar with GMP's and be able to work any shift as we are a 24/7 operation.

BASIC FUNCTION
* Installs, troubleshoots and repairs complex equipment and distribution systems, involving work of a varied nature with minimum supervision; resulting in efficient operation of plant facilities.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturers instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
* Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
* Installs and rearranges complex equipment
* Dismantles, repairs and reassembles complex equipment
* Performs work in mechanical skills area such as fabrication, assembly, welding, burning, cutting and pipe fitting
* Performs electrical work such as removing and replacing motors, fuses, cables and installing conduit and pulling wire
* Safely and effectively use shop equipment such as drill press, grinders, mills and lathes
* Safely and effectively use plasma cutter, stick welder, mig welder, and tig welder
* Complete routine preventive maintenance tasks
* Generate Purchase requisitions for stores and inventory if necessary
* Complete work orders
* Operates production equipment to check work as required
* Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
* Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
* Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks.
* Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.


QUALIFICATIONS
* 3-5 years production manufacturing experience
* Strong trouble shooting skills in the areas of mechanical, electrical, pnuematic, conveyor, hydrolic, and programmable logic controls
* High school diploma or equivalent preferred
* Must be flexible to accomplish the necessary tasks
* Work additional time on a daily or weekly basis if necessary
* Able to perform in a fast paced and team oriented environment
* Ability to adapt in a changing work environment
* Mechanical aptitude and ability
