Job: Light Duty Mechanic

Valvoline Instant Oil Change is looking for motivated and experienced Mechanics to work at

A Light Duty Mechanic should have experience in automotive repair. ASE and other related
certifications or degrees from a vocational or technical program are a huge plus. A Light Duty
Mechanic is responsible for correctly diagnosing and performing preventative maintenance
and repairs, according to BAR guidelines. Additional responsibilities include being trained and
certified in our Management Training Program, which allows for Mechanics to gain exposure
and experience in Operations Management. A Light Duty Mechanic may also have minimal
administrative tasks assigned, such as correctly invoicing customers per BAR guidelines, as
needed.

The responsibilities for this position include:

Ensure technical competence in completing routine light mechanical work on vehicles
Ensure a highly satisfying experience for every single guest
Learn to use our Point of Sale system and properly invoice customers
Be technically proficient in administering and completing our basic and additional services
May be responsible for basic administrative needs of Service Center and opening or closing of a
Service Center

The Light Duty Mechanic is responsible for making the automotive correct recommendations
to
service a customer's preventative maintenance needs based on industry standard
recommendations and performing the services/repairs according to industry standards. This
individual provides technical competency, efficiency, knowledge of sourcing parts, providing
outstanding customer service, creates work orders and correctly uses our Point Of Sale system,
and works closely with the Service Center Manager or Assistant Manager to ensure that
customers
have an extraordinary experience. Prior automotive experience and ASE Certifications or any
other Automotive-related degrees will positively affect salary. Familiarity with basic POS
systems
is preferable.
