That's were the Military Intelligence (MI) Systems Maintainer/Integrator is essential. A MI Systems Maintainer/Integrator is an essential member of the Army's MI Soldier. The MI Systems Maintainer/Integrator is primarily responsible for maintaining and integrating intelligence gathering systems, computers and networks used by MI Soldiers. Some of your duties as an MI Systems Maintainer/Integrator may include: * Maintain, test and repair communications equipment * Maintain and integrate MI computers and networks * Assess and extract data from fixed, portable and wireless storage/communication devices * Perform pre, during, and post-mission operational checks on MI aerial platforms, sensors, and systems Skills / Requirements
Job training for a MI Systems Maintainer/Integrator requires of nine weeks of Basic Training, where you'll learn basic Soldiering skills, and 44 weeks of Advanced Individual Training, which including practice with equipment. You'll learn: * Electronic and electrical principles * Preventive maintenance procedures * Computer networks, hardware and software * Multiple system/subsystem repair procedures Helpful attributes include: * Interest in mathematics * Interest in working with electrical, electronic and electromechanical equipment * Ability to do work requiring accuracy and attention to detail * Interest in solving problems * Interest in computers and computer networks Advanced level MI Systems Maintainer/Integrators supervise and train other Soldiers. As an advanced level MI Systems Maintainer/Integrator, you may be involved in: * Diagnose and correct malfunctions in MI systems * Protect intelligence networks and analyze networks to develop detailed network maps in support of intelligence operations * Extract digital intelligence from internet research, various computer network protocols and databases * Reconstruct network infrastructures, define components functionalities, perform network mapping, perform vulnerability analysis and evaluation of networks in support to computer network operations * Perform quality control of maintenance documents * Perform critical alignment and calibration procedures on MI systems * Supervise the integration, configuration and maintenance of an intelligence network * Supervise the operation and proper use of Test, Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment * Maintain the maintenance facility technical library The skills you learn as a MI Systems Maintainer/Integrator will certainly prepare you for a future with civilian companies that design and make electronic equipment, computers, and manage computer networks. Electronic equipment repair, computer networking, computer software and hardware maintenance are all potential civilian positions available for you to consider. Through your extensive Army training and experience and some additional study, you may be able to qualify for Electronics Technician Association (ETA) certification. * Integrated Family of Test Equipment (IFTE) Operator/Maintainer (94Y) * Radio and Communications Security (COMSEC) Repairer (94E) * Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment Maintenance Support Specialist (94H) Learn more about the relationship between military training and civilian certification requirements.
