Job Title: Manager of Business Technology PMO
Job Ref#: NB60458100EA Typical Responsibilities: The successful candidate will lead the Operations Support (OS)/ Program Management Office (PMO) by managing the OS project technology portfolio to ensure it meets the changing business needs and leading major technology initiatives. Typical responsibilities will include: Managing the project prioritization and approvals; Tracking and monitoring of project progress; Providing strategic direction for work to be performed and desired results; Reporting the state of OS technology portfolio health and corrective measures to senior leaders; Overseeing ~200 project management resources throughout OS; Collaboratively deploying and maintaining the infrastructure of the PMO in Operations Support to ensure long-term sustainability; Establishing and managing oversight capabilities for training and skills assessment of 200+ project management type resources; Enhancing and overseeing the Enterprise Portfolio Management (EPM) process in OS; Establishing and maintaining a reporting mechanism for a all initiatives and projects; Managing major technology initiatives; Selecting staff and managing employee performance and development by conducting performance planning and reviews, coaching employees, and carrying out disciplinary action when necessary; Participating in the establishment and achievement of the OS long-term vision and strategy; and performing other duties and responsibilities as required. Skills / Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
Must possess ten or more years managing or supervising one or more organizations or units including direct reports. Must have experience managing and implementing simultaneous major technology projects and initiatives while working collaboratively with business partners. Must have experience resolving business issues with innovative technology solutions. Core Competencies: - Bachelor Degree in applicable profession, Business, Management Information Systems, or technical discipline or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. - Demonstrated experience with a Program Management Office. - Demonstrated experience training, mentoring, and coaching other project managers and project leads (i.e. construction engineers). - Demonstrated experience developing and implementing strategic business plans that have a large impact on the organization and prioritizing strategic initiatives. - Demonstrated experience with managing a review and approval process of project and initiatives. - Demonstrated expert knowledge of and experience with project management techniques used to make budget projections, identify and mitigate obstacles, and review and update the scope for interrelated projects of high complexity and impact to the organization. - Demonstrated knowledge of utility business support processes. - Must have excellent oral and written communication skills to deliver information across all levels of the organization, some of which may be technical or sensitive in nature. - Demonstrated ability to accurately analyze information and make strategic decisions that have cross-organizational impact. - Demonstrated ability to achieve results through others by establishing the strategic priorities, influencing, and empowering employees with the authority necessary to accomplish objectives. - Demonstrate the ability to manage talent by reviewing business forecasts and selecting and developing employees to fill talent gaps. - Demonstrate the ability to motivate self and others to overcome adversity and achieve long-term strategic goals. - Must demonstrate excellent business mastery, including the ability to integrate work across relevant areas, manage risks and safety appropriately, manage information and data, and provide exceptional collaborative service to internal and external customers. - Must demonstrate excellent management mastery, including results delivery, team building and player, and staying current with relevant technology and innovation. - Must demonstrate strong personal mastery, including ethics and integrity, influence and negotiation, interpersonal skills, the ability to effectively manage stress and engage in continuous learning.
