Typical Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be the lead project manager for Southern California Edison's (SCE) participation in a long-term procurement plan proceeding conducted by the California Public Utilities Commission. This will involve managing an internal interdisciplinary cross-departmental team with policy responsibilities for generation planning, transmission and distribution planning, renewable power development, environmental affairs, and energy efficiency. Typical responsibilities will include; providing direction to analysts regarding scenario modeling of the implications of potential state energy policies on electricity cost, grid reliability and environmental impact; working closely with senior managers, project managers, and analysts to support business planning, strategy, and project valuations; managing cost-benefit analysis of short and long-term generation and "demand side projects"; taking a lead role in significant subtasks of major projects; working closely with client departments in a consultative manner; preparing and presenting information to diverse stakeholders; performing special studies as requested; providing testimony and regulatory support; supporting the creation of overall project plans, resource allocation, communication, tracking and project management, and regulatory assignments; project planning and reporting for specific subtasks; developing work plans, creating and delivering presentations, drafting testimony, conducting financial and economic analysis, responding to data requests, and preparing witnesses for regulatory hearings; supporting and managing large interdepartmental teams and smaller working groups on large scale capital projects, industry research, and projects of a strategic nature to the company; collaborating with project managers and management for decisions on strategic options that have major financial or operational impact to the company; conducting recruiting efforts and mentoring/training activities on behalf of Market Strategy and Resource Planning (MS&RP); and performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Skills / Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
Must have project management experience.

Core Competencies:
- Bachelors degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or other technical discipline or an equivalent combination education, training and experience.
- Typically possesses seven or more years experience in organizational programs or contract management plus five or more years of supervisory or project management experience.
- Typically possesses two or more years of experience using quantitative methods such as econometric modeling, financial analysis, options modeling, and cost-benefit analysis.
- Demonstrated experience interfacing and collaborating with team members, all levels of management, regulatory agencies, different departments and/or external stakeholders to develop solutions and facilitate cooperation between different parties.
- Demonstrated experience consulting with clients, including independently identifying client needs, developing action plans, identifying deliverables, and presenting results.
- Demonstrated experience in the preparation and delivery of presentations for diverse audiences including executive and senior management.
- Demonstrated experience managing and implementing multiple projects concurrently, including identifying, maintaining, and/or adjusting the cost, scope, and resources, and overseeing the formal planning, tracking, and reporting of project performance
- Demonstrated experience leading and managing cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated experience making strategic decisions regarding project scope, impact, policy development, and implementation.
- Demonstrated proficiency with PC applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Must demonstrate the ability to integrate work across relevant areas, develop the business and services to enhance customer satisfaction and productivity, manage risks and safety appropriately, develop and execute business plans, manage information, and provide exceptional service to internal and external customers.
- Must demonstrate effective resource and project planning, decision making, results delivery, team building, and staying current with relevant technology and innovation.
- Must demonstrate strong ethics, influence and negotiation skills, leadership, interpersonal skills, communication, the ability to effectively manage stress and engage in continuous learning.

Preferences:
Masters Degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or other technical discipline. Experience in energy, power, or utility industries with a focus on business planning and strategy functions. Prior management consulting, investment banking, strategic planning, or financial planning experience. Demonstrated ability defining, developing, directing, and presenting scenario/sensitivity analyses.
