Job: Service Delivery Specialist

Rio Tinto Procurement (RTP) has an opening for a Service Delivery Specialist located in Boron, California, USA.

Rio Tinto Procurement (RTP) works closely with individual Rio Tinto business units worldwide to deliver measurable value through managing all key aspects of the inbound supply chain for procurement of goods and services, resulting in continuous improvement in costs, safety, and business efficiency.

This role is responsible for sourcing projects of a large scope and assisting with the development and increase of purchase volume results through established sourcing processes and contract management practices.

Accountabilities:
• Ensure the effective delivery of all agreed services to internal and external customers at the required standards by establishing relationships and proactively participating in a culture of excellent service.
• Provide business support and evaluation of services for assigned business unit/end user.
• Manage and direct a contract implementation and supplier review process into the assigned business unit.
• Responsible for negotiating commercially favorable contracts that are completed within applicable service expectations.
• Responsible for the integration of RTP e-sourcing systems by monitoring utilization of tools.
• Conduct effective market research, supplier strategy development and negotiation strategy planning.
• Perform effective contract writing and management.
• May assist with identifying opportunities for value creation or risk at an early stage, clarify the value of potential and respond quickly to customer needs in the procurement process.
• May provide coaching and mentoring to less experienced peers, where appropriate.
• May participate in the development of improvement initiatives and projects.

Qualifications:
• Bachelors Degree or equivalent education/experience in business, engineering, mining or related discipline required
• Minimum 5 years experience in procurement or related area required
• Experience in mining, aluminum smelting, oil and gas, or heavy industry preferred
• Knowledge and understanding of procurement and supply chain best practices required
• Knowledge of contract law preferred
• Knowledge of commercial law and mining requirements preferred
