Job Title: Manager – Business Intelligence/Application DBA
Job Ref#: NB60452339EA Typical Responsibilities: The successful candidate will manage a technical staff supporting data warehouses and business intelligence or application database administration. Typical responsibilities will include: coordinating and assigning work to employees; working with financial and budget management, forecasting techniques, cost-benefit analysis, and the development of business cases; interfacing with multiple departments; maintaining and enhancing the operations of the group by establishing or enhancing procedures for development and support of services; analyzing and recommending technology enhancements for use within the group and to enhance service offerings; optimizing business performance through the use of metrics, trend analysis and event correlation; performing hardware and storage capacity planning, and root cause analysis; performing product management for tools supported by the group; developing and managing budgets; providing close direction or oversight of work performed and desired results; selecting staff and managing employee performance and development by conducting performance planning and reviews, coaching employees, and carrying out disciplinary action when necessary; recommending and/or approving departmental policies and procedures and assisting in the development of department policies and procedures; developing business plans, objectives, and initiatives for the organization in alignment with business strategy and customer requirements; assisting in the development of initiatives for corporate strategic plans and objectives; and performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Skills / Requirements
Basic Qualifications: Must possess two or more years' experience supervising IT projects or operations or five or more years performing in an IT services and support role. Must have experience planning, coordinating, implementing, and monitoring IT services and support for business intelligence or application database administration. Core Competencies: - Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology; or technical discipline or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. - Demonstrated knowledge of and experience working with financial and budget management, forecasting techniques, cost-benefit analysis, and the development of business cases. - Demonstrated experience achieving results through others by providing leadership and resource planning including prioritizing activities, delegating and monitoring the progress of assignments, and holding employees accountable for results. - Demonstrated experience identifying and implementing new technology and processes improvements into the workplace. - Demonstrated experience with project management techniques. - Demonstrated experience developing and delivering presentations and reports to senior management. - Demonstrated ability to manage talent and create effective teams by selecting and developing employees to fill talent gaps. - Demonstrated ability to motivate self and others to overcome obstacles and achieve goals. - Demonstrated ability to accurately analyze information and make sound decisions that have considerable business impact on day-to-day operations. - Demonstrated experience developing and implementing strategic plans that have a small to moderate impact on the organization, and facilitating forums to capture the stakeholder requirements. - Demonstrated ability to effectively interface with clients, peers, management, and other IT organizations. Preferences: - Demonstrated experience working with business intelligence tools including Business Objects, SAS, and SAP Business Warehouse or database management systems including Oracle, DB2, and SQLServer. - Demonstrated experience leading or managing technical resources, both in-house and contract employees. - Demonstrated experience using SAP for notifications, work orders, purchase requisitions, receiving of goods and service, timekeeping, and reporting Important Notes
