Job Title: Quality Assurance Project Manager
Job Ref#: NB60433323EA Typical Responsibilities: The successful candidate will support the Manager of Oversight and Quality Assurance by developing, maintaining, and executing independent oversight of the Quality Management functions including operational and assessment activities performed within Transmission and Distribution Business Unit (TDBU) in accordance with regulatory commitments and management expectations. Typical responsibilities will include: managing initiatives across functional organizations in a way that focuses high level business commitments above individual needs; Providing guidance and functional direction for quality activities across TDBU; Assisting in development of quality policy, strategies that provide the appropriate framework for TDBU to achieve its long term business goals and objectives; Setting up systems to monitor progress, measure results, and ensure consistent implementation across TDBU; Developing process measures, directing, and monitoring compliance with standards; Developing personal leadership, communication, and negotiating skills to build consensus on quality strategy, standards, and coordination of resources across TDBU; Communicating effectively on quality principles, strategies and goals, and articulating the value of quality in achieving the Company's business goals and TDBU's vision; Deploying strategies for quality program design, including continuous improvement, root cause analysis, and best practice identification, and assuring adequate resources are provided to implement; Assuring that the Companys and TDBU's high standards for ethics and integrity are integrated into all aspects of quality; Working closely with corporate Audits, corporate Safety, and corporate Environmental to integrate compliance requirements with quality efforts; Managing the assessment of quality affecting the areas of Operations, Maintenance, Construction, Engineering, material management, and Contractor and supplier activities, including quality standards and assessments in supplier contracts and in TDBU operations; Identifying actual or anticipated deviations from current standards or management expectations; Administering performance improvement processes, including the ability of the process to identify and resolve problems prior to external agency involvement or equipment failure; Identifying and developing new tools for Quality Management implementation and performance improvement initiatives; Establishing procedures and plans for self assessments; Leading a comprehensive self assessment program coordinated with Corporate Audits and other TDBU assessment programs; Identifying opportunities for improvement and recommending process changes; and performing other duties and responsibilities as required. Skills / Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
Must have experience with quality management systems. Core Competencies: - Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Business, or Technical Discipline or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. - Typically possesses seven or more years experience in organizational programs, contract management, or function being managed plus five or more years of supervisory or project management experience. - Demonstrated experience managing or supervising one or more organizations or units, including defining work group functions, establishing standards, ensuring compliance with regulations, measuring performance, and leading change. - Demonstrated experience managing and implementing multidisciplinary projects, including identifying, maintaining, and/or adjusting the cost, scope, and resources, managing vendors, and overseeing the formal planning, tracking, and reporting of project performance, as well as experience managing cross-functional teams. - Demonstrated experience consulting with clients, including independently identifying client needs, developing action plans, identifying deliverables, and presenting results. - Demonstrated knowledge of budgeting and scheduling practices. - Demonstrated strong decision-making skills, with the ability to consider a broad range of internal/ external factors when solving problems and rendering decisions. - Demonstrated creative thinking skills to develop innovative solutions to complex business challenges. - Must have excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to interface with all levels of management and employees. - Must have strong presentation skills and experience making presentations to executives, managers and large groups of employees. - Demonstrated ability to lead and facilitate cross-functional projects and/or teams and exert influence. - Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously with associated deadlines. - Demonstrated ability to establish goals and set clear expectations, prioritize activities, and follow through with timely execution. - Must be able to champion new ideas, take initiative, and lead change. - Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, build relationships with internal and external individuals/organizations. - Demonstrated ability to work independently in ambiguous environments. - Must demonstrate excellent business mastery, including the ability to integrate work across relevant areas, develop the business and services to enhance customer satisfaction and productivity, manage risks and safety appropriately, develop and execute business plans, manage information, and provide exceptional service to internal and external customers. - Must demonstrate excellent management mastery, including effective resource and project planning, results delivery, and staying current with relevant technology and innovation. - Must demonstrate strong personal mastery, including ethics, influence and negotiation, the ability to effectively manage stress and engage in continuous learning. Preferences: Masters degree. Quality Certification and/or Six Sigma Greenbelt or Blackbelt certification. Experience in the Utility industry. Important Notes
