Job Title: Manager of Human Resources – Nuclear Operations

Typical Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will serve as the Sr. HR Manager for SCE's San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS) and will provide dailly onsite HR guidance to the SONGS senior leadership team. He/she will be responsible for ensuring the successful integration of HR functions (i.e., Employee Relations, Labor Relations, Equal Opportunity, Staffing, and Compensation) at SONGS with SCE's Corporate initiatives. Typical responsibilities for this position include: providing guidance and expertise to the SONGS senior leadership team by implementing people initiatives that ensure linkage with SCE strategies and goals; providing leadership and management to ensure successful resolution of critical people and workplace business challenges through execution of consistent, proactive and legally sound HR policies, practices and processes; liaising with the SONGS leadership team and SCE HR organization to identify and forecast workforce staffing levels and talent needs; leveraging strong change management knowledge and experience to support the SONGS leadership team; drawing upon the core drivers of HR processes and systems to include succession planning, leadership development and performance management; partnering with SONGS leaders to identify, develop, and implement changes related to organizational restructuring; developing and implementing suitable performance indicators for staff as well as the organization; recommending and/or approving departmental/organizational policies and procedures; developing business plans, objectives, and initiatives for the organization that are aligned with Corporate strategies and client requirements; and performing additional duties as required.


Skills / Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
Must possess a minimum of 10 years' experience working in a large, private, corporate Human Resources organization.

Core Competencies:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field, or the equivalent combination of formal education, training, and experience.
- Typically possesses 10 years' of experience managing an organization or unit.
- Demonstrated experience working across multiple HR functional areas including a strong understanding of the HR delivery system.
- Demonstrated experience providing HR leadership in a matrix organization including experience managing and resolving people-related issues associated with performance and production.
- Demonstrated knowledge of applicable employment, wage and hour, equal opportunity and labor laws related to HR company programs.
- Demonstrated ability to align corporate strategic initiatives with Human Resource policies and procedures.
- Demonstrated experience interpreting, applying, and ensuring compliance with state/federal HR laws and regulations.
- Demonstrated understanding of the utility business model.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve results through others by establishing strategic priorities and empowering employees with the authority necessary to accomplish objectives.
- Demonstrated experience with large-scale organizational change and/or restructuring initiatives including expert knowledge of change management best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to manage talent and select and develop employees to fill talent gaps.
- Demonstrated ability to accurately analyze information and make strategic decisions that have cross-organizational impact.
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing strategic business plans that have a large impact on the organization, including experience prioritizing strategic initiatives.
- Must demonstrate excellent business mastery, including the ability to integrate work across relevant areas, develop the business and services to enhance customer satisfaction and productivity, manage risks and safety appropriately, develop and execute business plans, manage information, and provide exceptional service to internal and external customers.
- Must demonstrate excellent management mastery, including effective resource and project planning, decision making, results delivery, team building, and staying current with relevant technology and innovation.
- Must demonstrate strong personal mastery, including ethics, influence and negotiation skills, interpersonal skills, communication skills, the ability to effectively manage stress and engage in continuous learning.
Preferences:
Advanced degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development and/or Industrial Relations. Understanding of the Institute of Nuclear Production Operations (INPO) and Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC).
