Job Title: Telecommunications Engineer/Specialist

Typical Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will participate in the management of wireless subscriber devices such as pagers, cellular telephones, satellite phones, mobile radios, cellular air-cards, modems, and multi- function devices such as the Blackberry. He/She will need to
stay apprised of new and emerging wireless technologies, including future roadmap of devices currently in use. Typical responsibilities include: conducting one-on-one and group training on the use of wireless devices; developing and presenting recommendations to internal and external stakeholders; resolving complex internal and vendor issues regarding wireless devices (cellular and two way radio) and services; working with Desktop Management for the deployment, testing and piloting of new and replacement products; coordinating the inventory management; performing in depth analyses related to pilot testing of devices; repairing and maintaining subscriber devices; working closely with engineering and/or vendor technical support for customer reported issues, system outages, and general system discussions; assisting in the assessment and completion of client reported issues; gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data related to client satisfaction surveys and user training knowledge assessments in order to improve customer satisfaction; and performing other duties as required.

Skills / Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
Must have experience with the operations and/or functions of wireless voice and/or data technologies such as: pagers, cellular telephones, cellular air-cards, and Blackberry devices. Must have experience with two-way radio technologies.

Core Competencies:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Typically possesses six or more years' experience in telecommunications researching, analyzing, maintaining and interpreting complex data, and providing recommendations.
- Familiarity with telephone and network infrastructures.
- Demonstrated experience consulting with customers, including identifying client needs, developing action plans, and providing results.
- Demonstrated experience maintaining reporting systems.
- Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and resolving customer issues over the phone, in person, and in writing.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative, plan, organize, and contribute to the completion of multiple concurrent and complex projects and assignments.
- Demonstrated experience communicating technical information to non-technical end users through class room and/or one on one training sessions.
- Demonstrated ability to work with a team to resolve technical issues.
- Demonstrated ability to interface with all levels of staff including executives.
- Proficiency with PC computing technologies and software including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Lotus Notes, and the Internet.
- Must demonstrate excellent business mastery, including the ability to integrate work across relevant areas, develop the business and services to enhance customer satisfaction and productivity, manage risks and safety appropriately, manage information, and provide exceptional service to internal and external customers.
- Must demonstrate excellent management mastery, including effective resource and project planning, decision making, results delivery, team building, and staying current with relevant technology and innovation.
- Must demonstrate strong personal mastery, including ethics, influence and negotiation, leadership, interpersonal skills, communication, the ability to effectively manage stress and engage in continuous learning.

Comments:
On occasion, the candidate will be required to travel to various SCE locations to interface with clients, manage projects, and attend vendor meetings and wireless industry conferences. Additional testing may be required as part of the selection process for this position.

Preferences:
Experience using SAP. Certification in Computing Services.
