Job Title: New Construction Energy Efficiency Delivery Manager

Typical Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will support the New Construction Services (NCS) by managing the field delivery. Typical responsibilities will include: Developing short and mid-term plans and objectives for the organization in order to deploy resources and set direction to successfully deliver the expanded scope for new construction Demand Side Management (DSM) programs; Monitoring results and report to appropriate program managers towards progress of annual goals to ensure that goals are effectively met to achieve maximum earnings; Keeping management, regulatory entities and employees abreast of progress towards goals; Proactively identifying potential opportunities or conflicts that have a direct impact on the department, division, or Company; Working with Program Managers and staff within Customer Programs & Services, as well as counterparts at other statewide Investor Owned Utilities (IOUs) to ensure consistency in the delivery of new construction DSM programs, such as California Solar Initiative, Demand Reduction, Sustainable Communities, Community and Institutional Partnerships as well as Savings By Design; Monitoring target market to determine effective ways to address industry decision-makers; Determining direction for and coordinating associated activities of the field delivery employees in the organization to attain goals; Developing performance plans and incentive compensation plans; Overseeing salary planning for field delivery segment of the organization; Providing guidance as needed to address performance issues; Assessing training needs required to meet expanded needs of program delivery and identifying deficiencies in NCS staff; Utilizing technical knowledge and expertise to provide appropriate training resources in expanded areas of demand response, on-site generation and other sustainable technologies required to meet California Public Utility Commission (CPUC) directives; Fostering and supporting continuous employee learning to enhance field delivery personnel’s ability to provide customer service, meet DSM goals and position the company as the trusted energy advisor within the design and construction industry; Developing annual budget for field delivery portion of the group, as well as monitoring appropriateness to ensure compliance with established budget, for both labor and program expenditures; and performing other duties and responsibilities as required.


Skills / Requirements

Basic Qualifications:
Must possess one or more years supervising experience or five or more years experience in the delivery of Demand Side Management (DSM) programs. Must have experience interfacing and/or collaborating with two or more of the following: clients, direct reports, corporate officers, industry associations/ other utilities, and other managers to develop solutions and facilitate cooperation between departments.

Core Competencies:
- Bachelor Degree in applicable profession, business, or technical discipline or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with design and/or construction management.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with Energy Efficiency applications.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with energy simulation software such as EnergyPro or eQuest.
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing strategic plans that have a small to moderate impact on the organization, and facilitating forums to capture the stakeholder requirements.
- Demonstrated experience completing multiple projects/assignments simultaneously, working well under pressure, and adjusting to changing priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to accurately analyze information and make sound decisions that have considerable business impact on day-to-day operations.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve results through others by providing leadership and resource planning including prioritizing activities, delegating and monitoring the progress of assignments, and holding employees accountable for results.
- Demonstrated ability to manage talent and create effective teams by selecting and developing employees to fill talent gaps.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate self and others to overcome obstacles and achieve goals.
- Must demonstrate excellent business mastery, including the ability to integrate work across relevant areas, manage risks and safety appropriately, manage information, and provide exceptional service to internal and external customers.
- Must demonstrate excellent management mastery, including effective resource and project planning, and staying current with relevant technology and innovation.
- Must demonstrate strong personal mastery, including ethics, influence and negotiation, interpersonal skills, communication, the ability to effectively manage stress and engage in continuous learning.
- Must be proficient with MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.

Comments:
Additional testing may be required as part of the selection process for this position. This job opportunity will result in a second position located in Santa Ana.

Preferences:
Certified Energy Manager (CEM); Leadership in Energy, Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP); Professional Engineer License; or Licensed Architect.
