Job: Medical Billing - Externships Only

Gerber Ambulance Service is searching for a highly motivated, team player to join our fast paced, friendly billing department. Medical biller should have good people skills and be very detail oriented. Position will start as soon as possible and will interview immediately. Biller will have to perform duties within tight time constraints and handle large volumes of work with quality and accuracy.

Duties include but not limited to:
Processing insurance claims, expediting billing and payment for insurance accounts. Match attachments and bill group and individual insurance claims accurately and in a timely manner. Perform outgoing calls to patients and insurance companies to obtain necessary information for accurate billing. Answer incoming calls from insurance companies requesting additional information and/or checking status of billings. Follow up and collect on outstanding insurance claims.

Minimum one year prior office work experience. Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. Knowledge of Medicare, Medi-Cal and other private insurance billing guidelines and/or prior medical billing experience preferred.
