The Vocational Nursing Program focuses on preparing trainees for careers in the healthcare settings. They gain skills and intense academic instruction. This program also prepares them simultaneously to enter the work force and college. The State Of California requires Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) to pass the NCLEX-PN. The (LVN) program opens doors to post-secondary education for those wanting to pursue their careers in nursing.
Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) work in acute hospitals, doctors' offices, health care agencies and clinics. They also work in nursing homes and provide routine bedside care, help evaluate residents' needs, develop care plans, administer prescribed medications, injections and supervise the care provided by the Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA).
