Southern California Regional Occupational SO CAL ROC/P is a Career Technical Education training facility which represents the cooperative efforts of seven school districts. Our purpose is to provide entry-level and advanced job training and employment assistance for high school students (from both public and private schools) and adults in the South Bay and surrounding communities. Training at SO CAL ROC/P replicates actual industry standards. SO CAL ROC/P courses are open to all high school juniors and seniors, persons 16 years of age or older and adults.
Community Profile The So Cal ROC/P served as the model for the State of California when Regional Occupational Centers were founded in 1967. At that time the centers were intended to provide training for “trades” in traditional occupational settings. With the 21st Century come new challenges and higher expectations for the work force. Today’s wage earner has to be more educated, more technically dependent and more self-reliant than was his/her counterpart 40 years ago. Yet, the So Cal ROC/P has remained “the model” for the State through the development of innovative programs, a major emphasis upon technology, and an awareness that “Career Technical Education” is for everyone, from the individual seeking to enter the job market with upgraded skills, to the college-prep student desiring greater academic challenge and the opportunity to apply knowledge learned. Accordingly, So Cal ROC/P completed a state-of-the-art technology building in October, 2005 providing two stories of state-of-the-art classrooms and meeting space. Existing buildings are constantly renovated to provide safe and sophisticated learning opportunities for all. Contact Us
