Blog Post: Make No Assumptions About Employers
posted Wednesday, April 9, 2008 4:47 PM
Perhaps you are getting ready for a job interview or just had one and waiting to hear from the employer. Feeling anxious? Take a deep breath and relax. Let’s peek into the minds of employers to hear their thoughts. It may surprise you to learn that employers do not:
Make sure that you make no assumptions about the employer. If you do and they are erroneous, you may say the wrong thing, jeopardizing your chances to succeed. As a search consultant and career coach, I work with both sides: the candidate/employee and employer. I’ve learned not to make any assumptions about either side. In my next blog posting, I will tell you what questions to ask the employer to help you get your dream job and eliminate erroneous assumptions. I’d love to hear from you. Goodbye for now!
