FOSTER CARE INFORMATION Did you know there are 14,000 foster youth who have been placed with Department of Children and Family Services for permanency placement? 9,000 foster youth have been placed in relative care and over 1,500 foster youth are placed in group homes. Los Angeles County has over 350 group homes.

LATM's model brings together a mentoring team composed of a teacher, college student and a community mentor matched with twelve middle school youth who meet once a week after school.
