Blog Post: Join First Lady Maria Shriver at the California Women's Conference-October 21st and 22nd - Long Beach
posted Thursday, October 9, 2008
It's that time of year again... The California Women's Conference put on by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and First Lady Maria Shriver. Mark your calendar for October 21st & 22nd. Once again, 14,000 women will descend on the Long Beach Convention Center for two days of inspiration, education and WE time! If you've attended in the past then you will be happy to learn about the addition of "Night at the Village" the evening before the actual conference on Wednesday 10/22.
I am not exagerating when I say this is the most empowering and inspiring event you will attend this year - that's personally/individually as women, but also from a career networking point of view, this conference offers so much opportunity and should not be missed. I have volunteered every year since Maria Shriver took over the conference four years ago and it is one of the greatest experiences and something I look forward to every year. The conference is set up so that you can hear from and learn from the most accomplished and inspiring women in every industry. It's literally a who's who of women leaders; from business, to families to relationships to spiritual quests to health to everything in between. The women you will meet and get a chance to talk to are incredible. Everyone from Oprah Winfrey to Justice Sandra Day O'Connor to Maria Shriver to CEO's, authors, artists, newmakers etc... Under the direction of Maria Shriver, the conference is set up to inspire dialogue and be an open forum for everyone. The list of those scheduled to speak is way too long, but to give you an idea of the diverse range of speakers: Bono will give the keynote, former secretary of State Madeleine K. Albright, current Secretary of State Condeleezza Rice, Sarah Jessica Parker, Jennifer Lopez, Rachel Ray, Dr. Mehmet Oz (of Oprah fame) Christiane Amanpour, women CEO's and founders from every major industry and a whole lot more.. plus of course the Governator!
