Job: Van Driver - Youth Bus

GENERAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Transport participants to and from YMCA programs and activities.
2. Inspects YMCA vehicle before each trip, ensures vehicles meets inspection and safety requirements.
3. Maintain log book and other documentation
4. Perform vehicle housekeeping and fuel vehicles.
5. Reports problems to supervisor immediately.
6. Follow and enforces YMCA transportation guidelines, California Vehicle Code, California Highway Patrol regulations, California Education Code, safety and other policies and procedures.
7. Responsible for having vans washed on a weekly basis inside and out and fuel kept at ½ full of gas at all times.
8. Responsible for making sure children are picked up in a timely fashion.
9. Integrate Character Development values (caring, responsibility, respect, and honesty) into curriculum and interaction with children, staff and parents and be a role model with those values.
10. Attend all staff meetings, trainings and other YMCA functions as required by Supervisor.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Certifications: High School Diploma or equivalent; First Aid, CPR, and Youth Bus certificate required. Must meet California and Federal requirements and YMCA Transportation qualifications regarding MVR report and maintain satisfactory driving record. Must complete Association Training and testing program. Must have current Medical Examiner’s Certificate. Class B/Youth Bus or Class C license.
Additional Requirements: Criminal Clearance: including Fingerprints & Child Abuse Index Check, MVR report, Drug Test, Health Exam to include TB test and clearance.

Experience & Background: Must be at least 21 years of age, experience as a van driver preferred. Class A or B license with passenger transport endorsement.
