Typical Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will support the company-wide environmental and safety compliance efforts to ensure improved Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) performance. He or she will perform in-depth analysis, develop recommendations, and provide consulting to strengthen EH&S compliance and improve safety and environmental performance. Typical responsibilities will include: leading the development and coordinate implementation of specific EH&S compliance projects that impact multiple departments and find innovative solutions to support the resource requirements; utilizing the Southern California Edison (SCE)
EH&S Management System Standards as the foundation to comply with the goals and requirements while focusing on those elements necessary for prevention, management and reduction of risks; developing, implementing, tracking and reporting of compliance measurements (metrics) and the development and oversight of structured work plans to reduce or eliminate the risk; supporting EH&S goals and initiative by leading teams or working as a team member to achieve compliance goals, this includes working on cross-functional teams (e.g., working with internal and external EH&S professionals); participating in the EH&S assessment process; leading the development and implementation of a EH&S Compliance Communication Plan; assessing EH&S business processes, and developing and delivering training on environmental and safety programs and procedures; assisting in the management of rolling out of EH&S programs utilizing effective organizational change management techniques; identifying, assessing, and recommending EH&S improvement opportunities; performing benchmarking with internal and external organizations for continuous improvement; traveling within Southern California Edison's service territory occasionally as needed; and performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Skills / Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
Must have experience conducting EH&S assessments of business processes. Must have a Bachelor Degree in environmental, safety, engineering or a science related field.

Core Competencies:
- Typically possesses eight or more years experience in the development and implementation of environmental and safety programs performing complex analysis, consulting, and providing recommendations.
- Demonstrated experience working as an expert in the field of occupational safety/environmental.
- Demonstrated experience working with EH&S Management System Standards and EH&S metrics and compliance assurance tools.
- Demonstrated experience applying California environment and safety regulations in the work environment for ensuring a companys environmental and safety compliance.
- Demonstrated experience researching data/information, gathering, documenting, conducting analysis, drawing conclusions, producing written reports and presenting findings and recommendations.
- Demonstrated experience assessing EH&S training needs, developing and delivering training on environmental and safety programs and procedures.
- Demonstrated experience consulting with clients, including identifying client needs, developing action plans, identifying deliverables, and presenting results.
- Demonstrated experience interfacing and collaborating with clients, peers, regulatory agencies, other departments and all levels of management to develop solutions.
- Demonstrated experience completing multiple projects/assignments concurrently while adjusting to changing priorities.
- Demonstrated knowledge of MS Project and Visio.
- Demonstrated proficiency with PC applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Willingness to travel within Southern California Edison's service territory as needed.
- Must have and maintain a valid California driver's license.
- Must demonstrate excellent business mastery, including the ability to integrate work across relevant areas, develop the business and services to enhance customer satisfaction and productivity, manage risks and safety appropriately, develop and execute business plans, manage information, and provide exceptional service to internal and external customers.
- Must demonstrate excellent management mastery, including effective resource and project planning, decision making, results delivery, team building, and staying current with relevant technology and innovation.
- Must demonstrate strong personal mastery, including ethics, influence and negotiation, leadership, interpersonal skills, communication, the ability to effectively manage stress and engage in continuous learning.

Preferences:
Post graduate courses in safety and environmental sciences. Certified Safety Professional (CSP). Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH). Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM).
