Responsible for program development, planning and supervision in accordance with the policies and philosophy of the YMCA, including the character development values of Caring, Respect, Honesty, and Responsibility.
Responsible for good communication related to supervisor, staff, and parents, in a professional manner and attitude. Create and maintain a harmonious and efficient environment for staff and children. Responsible for meeting site budget and maintaining site revolving petty cash account. Responsible for maintaining accurate sign in & out sheets. Responsible for staff supervision and scheduling, keeping accurate documentation of staff attendance, absentee, excessive lateness, vacations, and time cards. Responsible for documentation of staff reprimands, counseling sessions, evaluations, and work deficiencies. Work with supervisor if a staff dismissal is necessary. Responsible for and implementing health and safety procedures. Responsible for meeting state guidelines and YMCA procedures regarding the service of daily snack. Responsible for monitoring daily activities and monthly calendars for site. Responsible for maintaining equipment, program supplies and cleanliness of the site. Responsible for attending required staff meetings and maintain staff meetings at site. Responsible for holding at least two family activities each school year (non-holiday related). Responsible for positive communication with parents, dealing with school discipline problems, and school relations. Responsible for conducting site and program with an emphasis on excellence. The person selected for this position must be a sensitive and mature individual who is able to relate well to both children and adults. Needs to be professionally prepared as a supervisor of elementary age children. Requirements for this position include:
At least 21 years of age Four years experience working with children 15 units of early childhood classes or related units (including 3 units of administration) Pre-employment physical with TB test and drug test screening Child Abuse Index and Fingerprints CPR/First Aid and Health and Safety Class Important Notes
Under the direction of the Branch Child Care Program Director, will be responsible for the planning, administration, expansion and evaluation of a School Age Child Care Site. Will follow all standards and procedures in accordance with the branch policies and be part of a staff team of site directors.
Pay: $10.00 to $12.00/hour
